v4.6 is only for Win95 so I have no idea why you would want it, but here is a link: v4.7 is for Win98 and above, get it here: BTW - Questions like these are a job for Google, not the members of this forum.
ppl have been saying that 4.6 has been working flawlessly for them in winxp and that 4.7 is the one that doesnt work right. Curiously enough i found this: Article ID: 5250 Created: Jan-1 1995 Edited: May-20 2002 ASPI Support for Windows 2000 and XP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Description: Does ASPI support Win 2000 and Win XP? Adaptec's referenced some warnings when using ASPI version 4.60. Resolution: There were warnings on Adaptec's website about possible problems if you install ASPI version 4.60 on a Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows ME operating system. During our test we did not find such problems, indicated in the warning, with Windows Media Player or Adaptec's CD Creator 4.0+ applications, and the 4.60 version of ASPI. We always recommend a dedicated SCSI adaptor for scanning, and this might be part of the reason we never saw the issue. Adaptec now has a newer version of ASPI and is fully supported in Win 2000, XP and ME. Adaptec recommends this version, 4.70 or later, when using one of the operating systems mentioned above. -------- Can anybody tell me any more about this or give testimony? also, isnt aspi for scsi devices? It's listed under "SCSI Software" on adaptec's site. I dont think i use that...i could be wrong tho.

As I told you before (I even show you my log om XP box!) I used and still using ASPI version 4.6, if they are only for Win95 how do you explain that they work on my XP box? Is up to you to try, but also plp pointed to use forceaspi and try it, if they say is only for Win9X and NT then you are ok! Remember that XP is built on NT tech. and by the way I use a lot of drivers for NT. I'm using a Plextor 24/10/40 to record all my SVCD and ASPI version 4.6 I guess you need to decide whats best for you. Also if you want to istall 4.6 while you doing it it may say for NT but thats ok. I'm attaching my log for the ASPI check in case somebody wants to verify.
sounds like 4.6 is best fo rme i use plextor too. I just got shy when i saw the big warning adaptec posts on their site that infatically states that you should not use those drivers if you have win xp installed...why would they say that if it apparently works so well? doesnt make sense so i just wanted to make sure there was not some other special version somewhere...ill try 4.6 tho since everybody has such good luck with it. Thx for the help. + i just went to radifieds website () he gives a massively detailed description of forceaspi and what it does and why. Convinced me.
