Hi, I have track that I used melodyne on for a vocal chorus and when I copy/paste the track on a different time space on the same track ....the melodyne correction is not there. How do you keep a plug-in effect intact when copy and paste is used? Thanks Basil
you need to select all the items on the track (double click on the tcp) the select apply FX. then copy. the edits/corrections happen within the plugin. and are heard only where melodyne and reaper have items in common. if you copy the items to another track you leave the plugin's magic behind. .t edit... what he said :D
I'll explain with more details 1.I sang one chorous for a song 2.Made a duplicated of the same chorus and move a few notes using melodyne to create a harmony. Copy and pasted the orginal chorus where needed on the same track...no problem. Copy and pasted the melodyne harmony track where needed ....no harmony Should I apply track fx as new take and than copy? Thanks for any help on this Basil
TCP = Track Control Panel - Track List. the melodyne manual provides an easy to understand explanation of how the plugin works. basically: 1. transfer audio to the plugin. 2. detect and edit the transfered audio 3. plugin's version of the audio is played back, where it exists, in real time. That is, where reaper's track contains an item that overlaps where melodyne contains audio... you hear melodyne. so, if you add item envelopes to reaper's items after transfering the audio to the melodyne plugin, you will not near the effects of those envelopes - because, while they are pre FX they are post melodyne transfer, which plays back post item envelope. there, clear as mud  So apply the effects of melodyne to the reaper items (see the right-click context menu for options) then copy the harmonies where you want'em. .t
So waht you are saying is,,,,right click the track item, select (apply track FX to item(s) as new take. This prints the FX to a new track? Hmmmm thanks Tallisman! I learned something new,,,I should have already known. I've been doing it the hard way and bouncing the track to print it.
