Help! scsi card wont be rocognized!

i have an adaptec 2609? or whatever? and my G4 (agp graphics) will not recognize it. I've heard that G4's and G3's have a special Pci slot for scsi cards but ive tried it in every slot. and it still doesnt work. im not using it for a scsi hard drive im using it for a CD-RW and DVD-RAM.

artguilljr, I'm not a SCSI card expert, but I've got an Adaptec 2930 card in my G4/pci graphics, and it is recognized in the first and third slots (I've never tried the 2nd slot) with no problems. Are you sure you have the Mac version of the card? Jeff D.

artguilljr I'm sorry to said that but at this moment digidesign do not support this card. I installed a 2940U2W (also not supported) and G4 recognized well lucky me... Don't try to fix that, you take your chances if you want...but in your case i wait until fill my $$$ account and buy a strong card....Try it you will thank me
