buffer and sample sizes (latency stuff)

cool I tried DPC on my XP partition, and it only spiked when I had the wireless enabled, but I have no way of checking on the OSX side, but I can assume it would probably do the same thing. Also, I send everything through my analog mixer so I can monitor that way, and then have all the signals piped through into the 828. I'm just wondering, aside from the wireless thing, what impact not having set any request sample rate/buffer sizes would have had on recording.

it sonds like it could be your FW card, is it texas instruments, i have 828mk3 and is very fussy, painto install but once its running properly should be fine, try another daw software to see if it performs the same, if so it is definately your FW in my experience, the motu forums maybe helpful but theres lots of isues with the 828mk3 last i looked

before i bought this mac i confirmed from MOTU on their website about compatible FW chipsets, and as of January 09, the Lucent chipset should be compatible. Unfortunately I haven't been able to try on a large amount of inputs again, but when I was doing a couple of tracks at a time and it perfectly fine and I hadn't checked off any of these settings either. I guess I won't really know until I try it again, but just thought I would see what people here thought. Next time I'll turn off the wireless and play around with those settings with the performance meter up and see what happens.
