Triggering and toggling samples live

Nube to Reaper - just downloaded it yesterday - liking what I see so far I have about 1 year history with Ableton live. I am trying to figure out how to trigger audio samples (wav and midi) via a Roland PK5 pedalboard I have. Live had the ability to assign a midi note, and the sample could either be triggered via the note or toggled (hit the note once - it turns on - hit it again, it turns off). Do I need a seperate VST for this, or is this something I can do directly with Reaper? Any recommendations on a VST if I need one? Thanks

Hi, welcome to Reaperland. To simply trigger samples you can use a drumsampler like . To toggle samples on/off you can use a script that Jonas wrote some time ago. You can find it in (look for 'eDrum sampletrigger.txt'). Both are for audio samples. Don't know how to trigger MIDIclips as i don't use them this way. hth Blechi

Thanks Blechi, having some difficulty with the Bigbadabom plugin, but I'm sure I'll figure it out, or I'll grab another sampler. Anyone have any thoughts on playing the midi? To be more specific, we play alot of Rush music, and I need to trigger the midi through a software synth during recording as well as live.
