Forgot to add... With the same method, allow to either ENLARGE or SHORTEN a midi item. There is now an issue with MIDI items that have empty space at the beginning. If you decide to loop one such item, you cannot get rid of the empty space at the beginning (try it), unless you resort some trickery (like glue the item onto itself)...

When doing Midi I so often have to glue the item onto itself to accomplish this (having the items looped). So definately a big +1 from me.

+1 Double clicking with a modifier key, or just double clicking in free space on the selected track inside a loop area should create a blank item. Then glue to the next/previous. Is there a way of setting this up with actions? Agree with everyone, this is a basic feature that is used a lot that's missing.
