so we all know there is "split selected track to mono." very helpful when you need it. but what i often need is a function to combine two mono tracks that are split stereo into a single stereo track. when i'm restoring old sessions pre-stereo-tracks, i spend a ton of time copying volume automation, sends, plugs, etc by hand and would love it if PT did it for me. is there a quick way to do this? -a-
Select the appropriate stereo track (s), then in the File menu select "split selected tracks Into Mono", . The stereo track will remain, and there will be 2 additional mono tracks containing the same data as the stereo. The same can be done with any multichannel track 2-channel or greater
i wish it were going to be in 6.0, but i don't know - i doubt it. i know there are many issues behind this, like what to do with plugins that are different on the two different tracks, but i'd love to at least hear from digi if this is an option, or why it isn't. digi? -a-
rename the files with identical names plus ".L and .R", they should pop together into a stereo soundfile when imported into a session. maybe not what you need...but an idea
