SmartRipper v2.41 sound problem?

I noticed the message on the first tab of Gordian Knot that mentions not to use SmartRipper 2.41 because you can get audio synch problems. I have been using SmartRipper 2.41 for a few rips and so far, they have been fine. I went to rip/encode The Living Daylights and after encoding, the audio is out of synch. The audio has not undergone audio expansion, just out of synch; however, due to this, the entire audio file is not present along with the video stream. I knew of this problem, so I am using SmartRipper 2.40.... QUESTION: What is the problem with SmartRipper v2.41 AND will using SmartRipper v2.40 fix the audio synch problem? I am doing exactly the same thing as with my other rips but I get an audio synch problem. thanks, Chip

I've heard most people say that v2.40 is fine BUT why not simply use the built in rippers in Gnot? Then you don't have to worry at all. Mac

Which built in rippers?? When I clicked on the ripper(s) button(s), it said that I had to place the respective programs in the Gordian knot directory. chip

Did you install v0.23 then update it to v0.26? Gnot includes two rippers, smartripper v2.40 and vstrip. Look on the rip tab (far left tab). Mac

Well then I don't know why "The Living Daylights" has asynch sound. I have followed the guide straight up and am doing the same procedures that have been fine for my previous 3 movies. The sound is asynch and because of it (I suppose) the movie is playing slower than it should. Also, there are cracks and pops occasionally when the video and audio attempt to 're-synch'. What is the problem here? I have tried to re-synch the sound with virtual dub, but I guess I'm using the wrong procedure. Can someone perhaps fill me in? thanks, chip
