Easy install - no problems updating. The arp does a great job staying in sync to MBC. the sounds are fantastic - lots of sound presets to choose from. this is an "easy to get going" instrument and very inspiring. The FX section has a lot to choose from, although I haven't really begun to integrate Xpand! w/ FX into my mixes yet. Two hours have already passed by - this VI makes time fly.

It's great. Good stock of 'real' sounds and some killer synth stuff. Haven't even got into layering yet. User interface is nice, the Arp and mods are cool and it's just a brilliant thing to have in the arsenal - especially for the price! If the AIR team's future efforts live up to this and Hybrid, things are going to be very good for people who compose in Pro Tools. Now what we need, AIR/Digi, is a nicely integrated, low on CPU but powerful soft sampler that you can load any library into.

My only gripe is the irony that you can't expand it's library...I also wish there were deeper editing features for each part. Maybe I missed something in the literature but I liken this operationally to a JV-2080 or something similar. I would be nice to edit the parts of a patch in a similar manner. Other than that I'm extremely pleased with Xpand!

I love it! great sound and easy to get it going. runs a bit slow, yet so does Pro Tools in general since moving from 6.4 up to 7.1 This kind of plug-in will help Digi stay afloat with all the competition. Being able to edit more of the presets would be nice, or having more of a user bank would be good... I hate using "presets" but the layering, appeggiator, and overall ease of use make this one a killer. worth the install... it is free!
