see Leftwing's post re ATI update extension. I installed openGL and disabled the above update. Running like a hot knife thru butter. 8.6 Yosemite 400 and 2 ATA drives (maxtor) and Miles u/w. From the very first Yosemite Apple had trouble with the ATI graphics card together w/ PCI video cards and Avid Cinema. It still is impossible to get a straight answer re ATI's role in this miasma. Yosemite AV machines had no Rage card installed when they finally shipped! I also went from quicktime 4 to quicktime 3.02 like a fly to Mr Hanky.
Shaggy, I have been having the same freezing/crash problems with PT/LE. Do I understand that you disabled all ATI extensions and installed Open GL and now you're not freezing up?? Any other tips (besides the ones Digi has already posted) would be of GREAT help. Many thanks, BJ Leiderman
