ah okay, havent heard of that one before, any one have any experience with the RNP preamp? I read a couple articles but would like to hear about personal experience :). Thanks, Kevin
You can always chekc out KRK's monitors. They are great and for the price, can't go wrong. But again, when it comes to studio monitors, best thing, burn yourself a Cd reference of your favorite songs and the kind you're gonna be working and go down there and have a sit and listen and make your choice!! Good luck!!

I'm still partial to Jensen 2 way 6x9's in NS-10 boxes or a close approximation. But then again, I learned about music from having 6X9's in the decklid of a musclecar, so there you go. These speakers can handle plenty of power, but the trouble is making them work at a decent level for sustained periods of time. They love to melt

haha you hit the nail on the head there lawerance. tbh I'm a bit lost, I want to get pretty decent equipment that I could record and mix cds with, but I just don't know that much about this stuff I'm still learning. I know a fair amount about sound cards and computer parts from working with them all my life, but like the pre amp, I don't have a clue which one to get, some people have suggested them here but they all suggest different ones :D haha just goes to show that different people here music differently. Thanks, Kevin
The first thing you should work on before you buy a monitor is your control room acoustics. If not treated/designed properly, you will just be wasting your money even if you get the "best sounding" monitors. Work on the acoustics of your control room first before you bring in any monitors to audition. Check out the info available here:
