DAE 9073 errors on HD....

I just upgraded my Mix3 system to an HD3 system. I kept everything but the hardware (and pro tools version) the same (i.e. same computer, same OS, etc). Why is it that I am getting DAE errors left and right on sessions I had no problems with yesterday on my Mix3 system? I am running at 44.1khz. I am running a dual 1gig G4 with OS 9.22 and PT 5.3.1. Same exact sessions (in fact there are fewer active plugs going on now because not all of my plugs have been HD upgraded yet). This is quite frustrating.

Just to recap...I spoke with a digi tech on this issue today and basically tried everything he suggested with no such luck. THe 9073 errors are so bad now I cannot work. Nothing in my hardware has changed, other than the HD cards and a 192 interface. The mac OS, the external 10000RPM scsi drives, all the same. IT is really frustrating. I feel like I just blew my annual budget on something that is going to give me more trouble than what I had with a very stable MIX system. I've cheked and double checked everything important, including DAE buffer settings, scsi card firmware, PT memory allocation, on and on. I've even consolidated my edits and still get the 9073 error. thix sx,

I have to admit most of these type of errors went away I started using Glyph firewire drives.

Personally, if I were you, I wouldn't attempt a major system change like going from Mix to HD without doing some MAJOR house cleaning. Whenever I've made a change that big, I've usually bought a new computer, too, so I've started from scratch with a clean installation. If I was going to do it using the same computer, I think I'd still reformat the system disk on the computer and start from scratch. I'd also reformat any hard drives I was using with the system, installing fresh drivers. A major system change is always a good time to wipe the slate clean, and re-examine everything that's going back into a system, making sure that everything is up-to-date. Regarding your 10k drives, are they relatively modern? You might want to consider trying internal ATA drives or Firewire. Firewire is working awfully well these days. Lee Blaske
