Can you go/record from the line out/speaker out of an amp or head directly into lets say an RME 9632 soundcard without frying anything? I cant remember which method will mess things up.. Thinking of doing this sort of thing and using cab sims with a classic 30 amp strait into the rme.... what about amps with just a speaker extension out? anyone use a Palmer PDI-09 The Junction for this?
You can use the line out / preamp out / FX loop send of an amp (it won't sound nice, needs a speaker sim to sound like an amp), but never ever use a speaker output for feeding line inputs. This will fry your interface.
Thanks for the reply Steindork I was kind of triple checking on the frying of the interface thing.. I just plugged a empty cable into the efx input so it drops the volume and went strait from the line out of the amp into my computer and slapped on kefir and a cab sim so I have the sound of at least the amps preamp tubes.. sounds pretty awesome.
