In the guide "Getting the most from CCE" they say to use Bitrate Viewer to determine some of the video settings. Here's a quote from the guide: "As you can see the Picture structure is frame which means the content is frame based rather than Field based, so you would check Progressive frames in CCE. The DCT type: Frame also points to this. If the content were interlaced the DCT type would by Field instead. " Well my movie (Vanilla Sky) has Picture Structure as Frame and DCT type as Field. I'm pretty sure the movie is progressive but it seems to go against what the guide says. Any ideas?

The flags of the stream can be set arbitrarily, encoding as interlaced even if the source is progressive is not optimal but not really wrong. Those settings can change during the stream which is then not shown by Bitrateviewer.

Yeah I get that on the few DVDs I've encoded (R4 btw). Some also say they are interlaced etc. But they are all progressive...well they must be given they all play fine ;) Just hope I don't get an interlaced one, because then I'd have to learn how to handle the material :p
