Problem with audio rip. Missing 12secs. 

ok i have a movie that has 12sec worth of silence in the beginning of the film. When i use dvd2avi the ac3 file i get from the vob's does not include that 12sec gap, the ac3 file starts out where the first sound begins in the movie. So i have a ac3 file that's 12sec shorter then the movie length. Am i doin somethin wrong or does anyone have any other soloutions i can try?

Hi- What's in the first 12 seconds of the video? Did you manage to get the FBI warning or other non-movie garbage? If so, your decrypting method was probably flawed. Did you use File Mode in Smartripper, by chance? If so, you should go back and rerip the vobs in Movie Mode. In any event, if you want to stick with what you have, you can synch the audio with the video when the time comes to mux by playing with the Audio Delay in Nandub in Audio-Interleaving-Audio Skew Correction.

the first 12 secs was just a logo of the company that made the dvd and it has no sound. Also when i rip the files into vobs and replay em with powerdvd the first vob (vob1) has no sound when i playback, but when i play the other vob files, like vob2, vob3 & so on they have sound. The dvd is an anime Hong Kong dvd but i dont' know if that is the problem cuz it plays back fine on my ps2 and pc. Guess i'll try vstrip and see if that works.

I have had the same problem before. I use stream processing in SmartRipper, and only rip the video and audio streams I want. This got rid of the FBI warning pause that I had. Hope it helps
