hiding volume readout when adding points?

Is there a way to hide the volume readout bar that appears as you add a fader volume automation point? I just find it a little distracting. I think I've gone over all the preferences and automation menus 10x looking for a toggle. Thanks!

Mercado! :) been meaning to ask this for a while now, I'm on the latest firefox on win 7 and for some reason your images mostly don't show up untill I randomly go back to your thread a little later, Is my firefox missing a media codec? any ideas?
