Please let me know if this works. I've been trying to set this up myself using my Dell PC as my DAW and running effects off of my macbook pro as a slave. It'd be a relief to know its this easy. Thanks!

Yes have had some luck with this, after using a router in the middle, and it seems to play the Macbook into the PC and the PC can record the audio, which is great, but its still not completely inter-weaved with the Mac I'm thinking of trying to record "both ways" use audio into the Mac from PC So theres a few combinations that I need to sus, but using reastream and reamote, and sometimes rearoute on the PC (WHY isnt this implemented for the MAC?!) Good to hear other users trying this out at the same time as me, as hopefully I will see the light and use both computers together in different combinations using the REA plugs Feel free to post here with your experiences as I can't find much at all if anything in the user guides, or Reaper Power book on using ReaStream et al. Is it a conspiracy? :)
Thanks Justin (ace work on R4 by the way!) Yes I do have two copies of Reaper one for each platform running, but thing is I use different plugs on the PC than the Mac, which is the reason I want to stream back and forth in different combinations PC > MAC and MAC > PC Also my PC doesn't have a soundcard as such, but could try asio4all to record and send audio back over the network, unless ReaStream becomes the soundcard/audio device on the target machine?

@Buckman, Have you had much success using Reamote? I tried last night to set it up and my two computers were talking to each other, and I could use Reamote, but it was very glitchy. I tried messing with the different Reamote settings in the preferences, but there were only varying degrees of worse. My PC that I'm using as a slave is pretty old, and I'm going to reformat and reinstall XP this weekend...maybe that will clear it up a little bit. Also...you said you've had some success using ReaStream? Have you been able to send audio from your Mac to the PC and then back to the Mac? I'd like to do something similar...almost use the PC as an insert...so send a track from my Mac to the PC, use a PC only plug on the track, then back into Mac-land. Let me know when you have a chance of your experiences. Thanks! Drew

My current studio PC has a UAD-1 card I'd like to keep using once I replace it with an iMac (very soon). A new UAD-2 satellite is not an option. The PC will already be networked for file storage so I was thinking if I run Reaper on it with a template of various UAD plugs on separate tracks and then ReaMote or ReaStream to get the audio through. Delay compensation should take care of the rest no? Oh and to control the PC I'd use remote desktop connection. Can this work?
