Is kontakt 2 good?

How is it compared to Gigastudio 3 and shortcircuit? And most importantly, how is it compared to kontakt 3?

ahhh thanks... just bought K2 on an impulse...thats why confirming my thoughts.... basically yall just tell me how kontakt 2 is the beez kneez and go to sleep, mkay?

How is K2 and K3 compared to Wusikstation? Also, how well does the ReaSamplomatic stand to these other names (minus the samples of course)?

kontakt2 works,- but I can still get it to crash hard in about three clicks... Unfortunately that's when I select my samples partition... ;) Kind regards Dave Rich

IMHO K2 ROCKS. I'd highly recommend you get your hands on the tutorial DVD - it takes you really deep into the product. You'll be astounded at what it can do. I've got K3, and it has some enhancements, but functionally 95% of what is in K3 is already in K2. My main reason for buying the upgrade was to get the expanded instrument library, which has more than doubled in size. But the documentation really suffered in the new version. Bigger instrument library, much smaller doc.

I bought it for $120. waiting for the mailman to arrive...

I switched from Halion to Kontakt a few years back and never looked back. K2 is a great product and the step to K3 is not huge in features, although the K3 interface feels a little smoother and polished. K3.5 is around the corner and will be available as 64bit so if you use huge libraries that is the way to go. (If you don't need 32bit plus of course) //s
