Reaper with Native Instruments' "The Mouth" (MIDI)

hey guys, not sure how many of you are familiar with a fantastic plugin called "The Mouth" from NI (video demo link below) Anyways, it works wonderfully with Reaper except for one essential part, i cant seem to export the midi data from the source onto a new vsti track. If that doesnt make sense, i'll try to explain... the plugin has the ability to (thru routing) to control any vsti with a sound/mic instead of playing keys, so say i have an acapella i put in on a audio track with the plugin on the fx, and then i insert a new vsti track and load up my favorite vsti, once the plugin is running and routed correctly (add a new send to the vsti track) the vsti plays according to the pitch/key of the vocal, and you can get some really cool effects! that part works excellent, problem is when i press record and try to get the midi notes, i get a blank recording... the routing doesnt seem to trigger the "midi indicator" meter like when u press a key on a midi controller... this is an actual feature of the plugin as its explained how to do it in Abelton live in it's manual: page 1: page 2: sorry for the lengthy post, just wanted to make sure it was easy to understand what i'm trying to do =]

Hey Phrenik, I am also finding this issue. The sound converts to midi, but the midi doesn't convert. As I find information, I will post it here you. Cool?

Set record mode of the track to "Record: output (MIDI)", it might work ;)

Fixed it! problem was that "midi" tracks created via "insert virtual instrument on new track" wasnt picking up the sent midi data from the source track's send. simply first create the source track with the audio and plugin then insert a new vsti on a new track like usual, then create an additional "normal" track below that one via double clicking the empty space below, send the track that has "the mouth" to this track and change record mode to "output: midi" it records the midi data, then just drag that item into the track with the vsti FINALLY! i can uninstall live now

Phrenik/Guys Would appreciate a clear step guide in getting Reaper to work with Reaktor5 and the Mouth. I've got all three and have gone through your posts a few times but I cant get it to work. In particular "simply first create the source track with the audio" - how do i set up the in/outputs for this - not sure how i can get the input from the output of reaktor. I'd just like to use 'the mouth' to record singing into a midi file and use this midi to be played through a vsti (Im using sampletank sound bank - but really any instrument would do). Any help would be welcome as its driving me nuts. Im very new to reaper. Sam,
