I am have trouble understanding how this is done.I have done it before, but i have been away from my DAW for awhile.I set it up in jamstix.I pick set output routing to 8(kick,snare,highhat,ride,symbal,percussion,ambien ce).I then right click jamstix in the FX window and select build multichannal ruoting for selected FX.This only sets up 4 new track, but i have set the out put for 8 in jamstix. Please tell what i am doing wrong.I just want to have all my drum part on seperate tracks.
Hi,JBradley I has been nothing but a nightmare trying to set up 8 outputs for jamstix2 into reaper.I tryed the template you gave me ,but i must be installing it wrong.I have tryed copying and pasting into the save as a template window, but after i paste it i can,t see it.How do i install this template.I tryed setting up multichannel output for the selected FX in Reaper. All it will set up it four stereo channnels.Won,t it set this up for 8 stereo outputs or 8 mono outputs.I have the outputs in jam2 set to 8.I have also tryed to set this up in Midi.I go to the kit window and i right click the kickdrum and set the channels for midi but they don,t move, same for the output for audio.I can,t get anything(midi/audio) to set up in 8 outputs. Please help
You need to put it in the track template folder. Its usually found here for win XP (replace username with your name): C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\REAPER\TrackTemplates Make sure that you turn downmix off in the mixer section of Jamstix, and in the kit section pull down outputs and pick the 8 output that has ambiance as the last output.
It's always worked perfectly fine for me. Don't forget that Jamstix has two different places where you need to set up your outputs. In the kit window you assign the routing (which drums go where, which drums get put together), and in the mixer you tell JS how many outputs it has to play with. Just to check, I just loaded JS, picked one of the basic rock kits and jam sessions, chose the 8-out routing option in the kit window, and verified that the mixer was set to 8 outputs. Right-click the plugin, "build multichannel routing", and I got 8 tracks. Here's one way to check if Jamstix is set up right - open the FX chain window and select JS. In the top-right corner is a box that lists your outputs. If you've done everything correctly, it'll say "16 Outs", and click on it will verify this. If it doesn't say that, well, something ain't right.
Thanks Lokasenna that was the best clue, Look for the 16outputs in the FX chain track window.I think i was going in with 16 output and changeing then without know what i had just changed in jamstix2.Now i know were to look for the outputs in the jamstix2 VSTi FX chain track.I away wonder were to look for how many outputs i was using LOL.
