Advice on dim headlights?

Thanks Kebab, I guess this is the way I need to go in the first instance, before laying out too much cash on more expensive solutions. I'll pick some Philips Extreme bulbs up this week. Be interesting to see the results, as well as the way forward! Regards and thanks.

All I would add to this is the light output is affected a lot by how clean the lenses are. At this time of year with the salt on the roads and lots of surface water to kick it up at the car the lights can look dim very quickly. My T4 does not have the headlamp wipers and so I carry a small drinking water bottle (the type with the sports cap) with some soapy water in it and a cloth in the boot storage pockets. Then if I notice the lights are a bit dim I can just clean them when I pull over for petrol or before I set off.

Cheers Manoman - No danger of much salt on the roads down here - We've got a local council that must be absolutely loaded judging from the cost of rates around here, but you rarely see them out doing the roads! Meanwhile, back at the dim lights, this has been an ongoing issue for a while - I had lens protectors on for a while, but had to give up on them as the light levels were so bad. The car is fab in every other way - had it from new, yet this is pretty much the one bugbear - and one that from reading through the forum makes me realise that I'm not alone in the stygian gloom that is V40 night driving!
