Hey Naman, I believe Digi recommends to set the sleep controls in the energy saver control panel to "never" ..... PT loses touch with the MAC while it's off in dreamland. BTW, I never shut my MAC off , just the monitor ... I've read and been told by some pretty knowledgable computer geeks that it's harder on the electronics to keep shutting down / restarting than it is to just leave it on. Tony

Tony--right on the first count. The second is trickier. You should definitely shut down and restart at least once in a while in order to flush the RAM (ever notice how the system takes up more & more RAM as you launch different apps?). It's not hard on the machine to shut down & start up. You *can* throw things out of whack if you restart 10 times a minute though! I say save some power and shut it down.

ZA - Ya'know sometimes it's a crap shoot on what to believe from what you hear/read ... thanks for the input, I do "shut down" a couple of time a week. Tony
