MP3 peak drawing bug (FIXED)

Happens in Reaper 2.55 and in 3.alpha1 too: -> load the project: -> now drag the item just a little bit to the left and you'll see this: Same happens when loading the project and zooming in horizontally. Are the reapeaks so complicated? Always seem to be buggy :( FIXED (3.alpha2b) Related bugs:

Can confirm only with the test file you provided: None of my MP3s show that behavior, so I had a look at the file format and it seems to be a VBR MP3 (which I seldom use). So I tried again with a similar (320kb/s VBR) file and I can't reproduce with that either. I tried MP3s in various formats from various sources, encoded in different years with Wavelab/Fraunhofer, WaveLab/LAME and Reaper/LAME, no dice. :(

yeah I believe this is due to the mp3 bit reservoir being empty when it is needed. We'll tweak the seek code to start earlier to help prevent this from happening...
