I have a song at 115bpm throughout. The song is in 4/4, except for three places, where I have a measure in 3/4. To do this, I insert a Time Signature/Tempo Change Marker where I want to make the change, set the meter to 3/4 leaving the tempo as is (115), then at the next measure, I insert another time sig marker, set it for 4/4, and again leave the tempo unchanged. That's working fine. But I'm finding that when I copy or move an item such that its falls within the 3/4 measure, it's play rate is being automatically adjusted to 1.00001, even though the project tempo and playrate have not changed. Take a look. (The item label only shows 3 decimal places, but the properties dialog shows the value as 1.00001.) I can't say that I can hear the difference in play rate, but that's kind of beside the point. I don't understand why the play rate would change at a time sig marker, unless the tempo or the the global play rate also changed. I've seen the same thing across multiple items. There there is this (pic below.) An item that crosses the time sig boundaries that does not have a play rate label, but that when its properties are opened shows that it DOES have a play rate adjustment. If I do any editing in the properties box so that they Apply button is active, even if it's just to change the current play rate and then immediately change it back again and click apply (not visible in the pic) the item gets a play rate label. But again, why should a time sig cause a play rate change? Am I missing something here? Thank you!

I'd call it a bug.

not trying to make light of this at all as all bugs are serious and this is actually something that i will probably run into since i like to use meter changes in my material as well. but i was just thinking about how it literally is a completely imperceptible change in tempo (unless your bpm is like 12 million) and how many of these bugs you would have to line up right after each other in a track in order to notice anything at all with the tempo. i'm thinking like thousands of meter changes each one slightly increasing the playback by .000001 and you might notice a difference after say.... 50,000 meter changes? where you @ zappa?

Ya I know exactly what you mean. It's extremely slight. But there's something disconcerting about it, since it's related to things things like syncing and so on. It's not a variable you expect to see. But once you do, you start feeling like you need to keep looking for it.... which I did... and found some that were 1.00003. So it becomes one of those things you'd rather not have to think about. Especially for something as simple as a single-measure 4/4 to 3/4 switch off every cho. Just wanted to confirm I wasn't overlooking something. I'll repost over in the bugs forum.
