monitor playback in osx&os9 problems

1. Id like to use my new monitors while im in os x. for listening to mp3s...and cds etc. they are event ps6's. i have them coming out (1/4 inch) my digi001 from the monitor L and R at the back. is this possible in osx? im thinking no. 2. when i select (in os 9) digidesign as my output in the os settings for sound i get these clicks and pops and crap when i am using itunes, reason etc. what can i do?

in os 9. i am running reason. i want to use my digi as the audio out. i allocated more memory to reason and to protools. its still pops and crackles tons. what can i do? i have 640megs of ram
