I initially thought I needed one. Does my presonus audiobox USB still use the sound card, or does it have it's own? Do I need to upgrade my sound card?
The Presonus AudioBox IS a soundcard (or audio interface as they're often called) itself and if you have another sound card in your computer, you should disable it to prevent conflicts during audio production and recording.
I don't have any programs running in the background, eating CPU cycles. I shut down my anti-virus software just to be safe, and some other silly little built in programs (HP games, shit like that) and now I have no audio whatsoever from reaper when I plug my audiobox into the computer. I click play, no sound. Nothing. I'm going to try re-installing the software to the audiobox, hopefully that'll work. I'm pretty annoyed, seems I'm getting a lot of issues for something very simple. I just upgraded to the most recent reaper release also, and no difference.
I tried downloading asio4all, and that didn't help one bit, there is still zero sound coming from reaper. I tried updating my drivers a couple times to the audiobox, and each time it crashes my computer (blue screen of death) and I have to completely uninstall and reinstall the audiobox. It's really getting fucking annoying.
Well, I reinstalled reaper, and I'm rebuilding some basic, quick drum files in EZDrummer. I do have audio. Tonight when I get home from work I'll try plugging the audiobox in again, whilst crossing my fingers.
